Some history on Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion... It's an anime series created by Sunrise. Directed by Gorō Taniguchi and written by Ichirō Ōkouchi, both of whom had earlier worked on the acclaimed series Planetes.
The first season spanned 25 episodes and ran in Japan on MBS from Oct 5, 2006, and ended July 28, 2007. A second season and sequel to the series, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2, premiered on MBS and TBS on April 6, 2008.
